Carbs completely dry and fuel pumps won't prime........

I'm back on Yamaha again and picked up a really nice 05 Warrior. I love Yamaha engines. I picked her up late last season and rode her a few times, seafoamed her and put her to bed for the summer. My last Yamaha's were fuelies with electric fuel pumps which would explain why they started right up after a their summer nap. What's a good way to prime the system? I pulled the carbs and they were bone dry. I also pulled the fuel pumps apart making sure they weren't plugged and were both clean.

Pressurize the tank via the vent tube, which is located above the left footwell. The vent tube 'should' be in the same area as this one.

remove the 2 fuel lines from the bottom of the pumps, put a small funnel in the line and fill with fuel. it will bubble up through the funnel as it fills. when both lines are done connect them back on pumps and start as usual.

We use a plastic bottle. Something like gear lube comes in. That tip will fit in the fuel lines. You can fill up the bowls using the fuel line like Grader said.

The vent trick is awesome fast and easy. My Dads vector is always bone dry so we have to pressurize the tank with all my hot air, works perfect everytime.

What Crewchief47 says. with gas in the tank, tank cap closed, detach the tank vent line from the nipple on the frame shown in the pic, blow into the tank went line, pinch the line to keep the pressure inside the tank, open chocke fully, crank the engine until it starts.

When cranking the engine over the pump membrans will start to occilate, the pressure in the tank will force fuel into the pumps, now with fuel in the pumps they will start pumping filling the carbs. Dry pumps will not pump anything, they will not be able to suck fuel from the tank unless you pressurize the fuel tank.
