I'm wondering about the chain adjustment bolt. Do you have to mess with this to change the chaincase oil, or are you only showing it in case you want to make an adjustment?

I suggest becoming a VIP of the site and getting the Service Manual for your sled. It has every maintenance procedure in there and just about everything you could possibly need. Hurts my head a bit to hear you wrenching on her without having one. You should change the chaincase seasonally but opening and wiping it down is a good idea. Check the case seal. Check for any wear. Check chain thickness as per the service manual. Upon reassembly, the bolts that screw into the shafts need red thread locker. The service manual has all this information. What to lube and with what grease, what to put thread locker on, torque specs. Please download and read
