Chain case oil?

Slowpoke, thought i saw 0w-30 listed, I think it is now available??
Made a few visits to the Lake George/ Champlain region in the 80's and 90's very nice, must be some great riding up there.
sorry about that I was replying from my blackberry and misunderstood or misread! we have 0w-40 for sleds and 10w-30 for marine and small engines. The 0w-40 gives a broader protection range for those cold mornings and the higher operating temps.

I've run Mobil 1 75W-90 gear lube in mine. I like what I've just learned about the Amsoil stuff and will likely switch at the next change.

Amsoil does offer a 0w-30 but it is mainly an automobile oil (amsoil signature series) I use it in my jeep, it has a 35,000 drain intervile. Amsoil's Powersports oil spacificly made for snowmachines and fourwheelers is a 0w-40, check out Sleddheadd's website. Amsoil offer an oil specially made for just about any application. Not just one oil fits all like most companies.

What does everyone use in their chaincase, I am going to change mine, the book says to use the normal 80/90 gear case oil, my dealer told me to use 5W-30 motor oil. I was thinking about trying to find some synthetic.

Yamalube Shaft-drive lube changed every 500 - 1000 miles. No problems.

i usually run amsoil chaincase oil in mine. this year i put royalpurple 75w140 in it because i had some lying around. usually change mine 1 a season on my main sled. betsy usually gets it every 2 years.

My dealer told me they are using Yamalube 10W-40 motor/gear oil. So that is what i have been using and it works just fine..

Amsoil in all three sleds. Hope it's as good as I hear. Got some value packs at Novi with injector oil, chaincase lube and chassis grease all together. ;)!
