Remove the back case and use a press for the bottom seal.

Long time lurker and first time poster. Just wanted to chime in on my experience with the lower chain case seal. I thought I had it all removed when ready to install the new one. That's when I couldn't get it on for the life of me and ruined a few seals. I brought it over to an experienced friend and he caught it pretty quickly. I few seconds with an air hammer and the right punch and voila. Once removed, the new seal went in quite normally. Attached image is what I thought was part of the chain case but was actually part of the old seal.
Also, if anyone comes across this thread, you can upgrade your seals the same way you can your bearings:
Top: SKF 35x47x7 HMSA10 V
Bottom: SKF 50X65X8 HMSA10 V
