2014 viper long track
Hey lads.. i did the ol ladys viper chain case on saterday..2014 ltx with 5060km.....went to tight'n tension bolt and got prob 4-6 turns outta i before it was tight..... tighted it as tight as " i possibly could "with my fingers..then backed it off 1 1/2 turns... i no theres a wack of stuff on here about it...i just wanna make sure..i did the "finger tight" thing proper...by tightin its as much as i could ...some guys say snug...some guys say as tight as your fingers will get it.. thanks lads

Right on rtx..thank u
.. thats what i did.. cleaned the threads of the bolt and tightin it till i could nt turn it any.ore with my fingers...marked it and back it off 1 1/2 turns...should be good to go... i m taking it my dealer did nt do the chain tension like they said they did last winter... or i would nt of got 4-6 turns on screw before it was tight... gotta love paying for stuff that never got done lol...thanks !!! There grooming trails here..and starting to ride... just finished bow hunting...gotta get these 2 vipers ready to ride asap lol

On these ltx's...her s has 144 studs... and dupont slides...it d be ok with 7/8 " track sag on a sled lift...and with 25lbs of work out weights sitting inside track.. measures 1 3/4 ish at the rubber stopper.. that d be good to go?? Or mess with it for that 1/4".. the dealer had it tight ...i put in j&t tri hub delete... and checked it before removal ..adjuster screws were 1 3/8... i had to bring them out to over 1 1/2 to get to the 1 3/4" on the track with 25lbs sitting inside it

You guys are riding already? How much snow over there?

I should nt say "here" as my location shows ottawa but i m in mountain grove.,kaladar ont area..but my dad lives 1 hr from here..."bancroft ont"say... and they have groomed up there...and i seen ppl riding on weeknd... i would nt think it d be great...but i heard from some boys its decent going...lol i just finished bow hunting... so im behind i guess...need to get the girls serviced and ready to rock

I got hers in heated shop on lift just waiting to hear if that track should be good..i think it should be good to go.. but i m a worry wart when it comes to my toys.... once i hear on that...i ll be bring my sled i from other garage and doing the same oil ..chain case...tri hub delete etc etc.....then time to play

I would not lose too much sleep over if the dealer tensioned the chain or not. Chains tend to stretch and its hard to say if the dealer ever touched it at this point.

Ya i did nt really have much faith in them anyway lol... you think the tracks good at that rtx...

I really cant tell you what to do with your track. I dont follow the spec and just run run mine as loose as possible without it ratcheting or rubbing the tunnel.
I got 5500 miles out of my original slides and slide life is more important to me than track tension

Do Vipers have extrovert drivers?
