Is the manual right when it say to adjust the chain tension by turning the bolt finger tight then loosen it 1 1/2 turns

Also wondering do the dealer actually break open the chain case and let the oil drain out? Or do they have so sort of pump to sucking the oil out. Can't imagine dealers taken breaking the chain case on every sled

Some do. Some don't. I didn't for first drain. Sucked it out with evacuator. 3000 mi you should be inspecting inside for sure. Of course if chaincase is loosened or removed guy can expect to pay more.

Anyone know what page of the service manual the instructions for setting the chain tension is on? I remember reading it but not can't seem to find it, unless I read it in my owners manual (which I lost) and it's not in the service manual.

I can't remember if one of the lower chain case bolts acts as a drain or not?????

For first service most probably suck it out. I did. No drain. Looking in Service manual I havent had any luck finding the spec either. Its Finger tight then 1.5 turns back.

I guess the dealer is supposed to do that at PDI? I'm gonna check mine as I found the pos terminal on the solenoid finger tight and the seat not plugged in on my LTX LE. So I'm a little sceptical.

I'm confused...my operators manual page 29 says finger tight then back out 1/4 turn. My service manual page 89 says finger tight then back out 1 1/2 turns. Which is correct?

Operators manual must be way off then. Any body else see the same thing I'm seeing? I've only had one beer already...lol

Yes it was a big screw up by Yamaha back in 13 when the 14's came out. Finger tight then back out 1.5 turns.
