Hey guys, if I am changing my front springs what bolt do I need to remove...the bottom...or the top of the shock...(beside the airbox)? Any tricks to doing this? Can I remove the spring from the bottom or not? Looking for the fastest easiest method. Thanks.

You absolutely must remove the TOP bolt, since thats where the spring adjustment rings are. First loosen the adjustments ALL THE WAY OFF, then remove the top bolt to drop the shock, then the spring should just pop off.

Thanks LB. I realized after I posted this in the SUSPENSION section that I should probably post it under General as well. Anyhow RX1RIDER in the other section says the bottom so you can appreciate why I am a bit confused. I would RATHER take them off from the bottom if I could. But I still am unsure and don't want to make a night out of this.

You only take them off from the bottom if your shocks are installed upside down.

Look at this picture here:

notice the threads discontinue towards to top, and the barrel tapers. Just unscrew those adjusters and everything will pop off.

Thanks LB. I will do that then. I HATE taking that $^$&% airbox off but if I do not have a choice then I guess I have to!
I disagree. You can take them off the bottom. Loosen the adjusters at the top like LB says then with the right influence the bottom holders will come off allowing the spring to fall off. I have not done this on the RX specifically but have on many others.

First lift the front of your sled off the ground so that your front suspension is fully decompressed. You may use a floor jack under the belly pan. Then loosen both spring tentioners, turn them all loose. Loosen and remove the lower bolts on both shocks, now your shocks will hang right down. With the spring all loose it is really easy to take out the spring stoppers. Remove the springs. When reassembling check that springs are mounted in the right direction. Springs are wider at one end, spring stoppers fits into the narrower end of the spring.
