Just thinking, since Yamaha's have a steep approach angle which supposedly leads to trenching, if one sucks up the front limiter strap to "lessen" the angle and then turn the weight transfer rod to take the extra weight off of the skis, do you think that would help off-trail?

I have tried that it works better in the powder as long as you are under power once you let off you nose dive. Maybe the new Simmons Gen II skis would help too keep the front floating.

I sucked mine up, and as a side benefit, it helped with hyfax wear,a nd the shock/track rub everyone talks about.
In fact, I had no shock rub, and little hyfax wear.
