I know this has been posted before, but where do you guys get your replacement screws. No Yamaha dealer around here even carries them and they are softer than the cowl itself it seems like.

I also learned the hard way, but dealer had them. He also looked for better [allen head] one , took some out of motorcycles , but no luck. #3 phillips is the answer.

Buy yourself an impact screwdriver. Hit it with a hammer and out they come. Also works great on the slide screws.
I bought out the dealer's stock today...a whole 2 screws. Now I have 2 extra. Put a belly pan on and put regular screws in place of the cheap ones, replace the ones I stripped out with the ones I bought. Number 3 does seem to work the best, it's the bohemith torque that yamaha uses when they install them is what causes my problems. Once I get them out once and I put them back in I have no probelms getting them out.

Stainless philllips screws w/ a stainless washer from the hardware store - $.80 per.... Of course their not black anymore.

try Tom Hartman at http://www.hartmaninc.com he had allen screws and plastic washers
