My buddy's RX-1 was burning oil like crazy. I found some GUNK brand oil treatment at Menard's for about 3 bucks. Poured it in the oil tank and so far, so good. Oil consumption less than half of what it was this weekend doing 400 miles plus. 1/5th the cost of Ring Free.

what you need to do is do a shock treatment with the ring Free an change oil & filter after when you look at the oil it should be really black an use a 1-2 oz of ring free after an that will fix the problem.

viscosity would be increased dramatically by adding snake oil. The sled maybe just a little hard to start in the mornings. lol

I have been trying to find ring free at several yamaha dealers around me and no one stocks it. Most of them said that seafoa does the same thing and does it better. I am just repeating what they said

What do you want to know? You add a bottle to your oil tank and your oil consumption goes down drastically. It may not be RING FREE FROM YAMAHA, but if YAMAHA was PERFECT in everything they make, they wouldn't be selling so much RING FREE, would they?
Gunk oil treatment in a blue bottle. Do a search on it. It works and it's a lot cheaper than Ring Free. And the engine hasn't blown up yet.

I don't know about the spray can-think it's a spray lubricant. But Can Tire sells Seafoam engine treatment in a white can with red markings (900mL)
Pour into fuel tank about half the can with a fill-up to shock the motor. Works great to clean up the carbs and the combustion chamber IMO

pour 12oz in tank run sled normal when you have burned that tank of gas make sure you change oil and filter. when you look at oil it should be very black after then run 1-2 oz in every tank and it should help with your problem.
