Cleaning a/f sensor

turbine man said:
Can someone tell me the proper way to clean my a/f sensor, I am on my second one in about 5 weeks. Its not working properly again, its a bosch sender, thanks.

Did you try to recalibrate 1st, most of the time that is the issue.

Jeff, Leaded fuel or leaded a datives? They don't like lead! seams I remember a lot of Boost guy's having trouble with this when running race fuel.

Tried that on the first one didnt try on this one yet, was working perfect yesterday then goes to 16 and will not come off that, i have to take the seat off anyway thought i would try to clean it. Was going to use break clean. I have to take it out to cal. any way right, thanks jeff

Yes 110 is a leaded fuel. Pretty much all fuel after 100 is leaded. A.V. fuel is 100 L.L. (low lead) but it's hard to get. Ted Jannety told us of a trick to put your a/f on a toggle switch to be turned on after the sled has warmed up as moisture from a cold engine is a killer of sensors also

I go through one a year and it stinks. I dont run race fuel just pump and occasionally torco additive when I get low octane gas.

AF gauges dont seem to live more then 1000-1500 miles on a sled.

I did the switch trick, I did the turn the key on and wait for the gauge to heat up trick, nothing worked it still went out and just shows 14 now.

I have a AEM gauge Bosch sensor.
