Clear Tailight Lens...WHERE??

Cubby, where did you get the wheels and chrome exhaust covers. Those exhaust covers are awsome. I am kicking myself now for not using blue backer plates :o| :o| :o| Sled looks awsome! ;)!

Also how much of a difference does the clear taillight lense make. Is it just a different look or do the lights actually reflect brighter in there.

You really don't want to ask Cubby about the chrome. Trust me. It does look great though. Beautiful sled Cubby.

Good Answer, Indy, Good Answer!

I am real sorry Bossman but I cannot and will not chrome anymore plastic for me or anyone else ever again. I did however do this service for some guys on here in the past but I will never deal with this type of service again. You may in fact do this yourself and I will tell you where to go to get this done if you are interested. However I must warn you that the process used to do this is very very irratic and comes out perfect about 40% of the time. And it is impossible to recoat a piece that has already been chromed. So if your parts do not come out good, you will have to buy new parts and start all over again. And for the final insult, you must sign a disclaimer stating that the plastic chromer is not responsible for parts that do not come out good..............Cubby

Thanks for taking the wind out of my sail  :( But I am still interested, they just look way too cool. ;)! And how about the wheels.

Ahhh, the wheels,,,,,,,,,, I love the look of them too but I have yet to try them out. There has been some negativity about the performance of the wheels. And for the bogey wheels, I had to make special mounts so the larger wheels would fit. I am pretty confident these wheels will hold up well because the ones other guys on this forum used that exploded on the trail did not have offset axles or special mounts. In the past the larger billet wheels were lower than the wear bars on the sled. So when these sleds hit like a rock or something they broke. Mine are installed so they are flush with the wear bars so I am hoping they dont explode on me. I got my wheels from Performance Engineering (they have an ad that shows on the top of this forum) And they did not make the mounts for the larger bogey wheels on the sides, I did. So if you get these wheels, contact me and I will make you up a set of mounts for the bogey wheels. Again I haven't tried these things yet so I can't really put my stamp on them yet. So my advise is to chill for a while and wait until I use them a couple of times before you buy them...........................Cubby

I went to my dealer today to find out about the clear tail lights. You can go to any Yamaha dealer and get them if your dealer has an account with Parts Unlimited. If your dealer doesn't find a new dealer because they must be behind the times. Also you can save yourself money by ordering it from your dealer because you will not have to pay shipping and you should be able to buy them for about 20% cheaper than what I have seen guys selling for on the net.

CUBBY ,

ARE YOU GOING TO TELL USE WERE TO GET THE EXHUAST COVER'S CHROMED??
OR DO I HAVE TO DO A SEARCH ON THE WEB?

Ummmmm, sure. You can call Mueller corp. at 508-583-2800 and ask for the vice president Glenn. He has a $250.00 minumum and tell him you want to use the "jig" that Jeff from the "Hose Doctor" paid to have made. If you send him at the least 12 pieces he will charge you $30.00 per piece if you prep them before you send them to him. He will make you sign a disclaimer in case he ruin's your parts(which has happened a few times) and he will charge you for return shipping back to you..... Have fun..........................Cubby

did a search found a couple of places going to heck them out first

Cool, I am sorry I could not be of more help to you. The process this guy used was called vacuum metalizing. I would think that this process is pretty common and this Glen guy is not the only one that does it..........Cubby
