How do you know that the sensor is bad?Normal
What are symptoms that lead you to a faulty sensor?

SD-24 alarm that will not clear. Originally the SD-24 alarm would flash until warmed up then go away. It now doesn't go away.

I would reflash the CL again.... Ensure the latest file.SD-24 alarm that will not clear.
Also, where are you picking up the power from?

Can't believe I missed this thread but that was me. I did go thru some testing with Dave regarding my 02 sensor. The only real test I could do was unplug the sensor because I only had the stand alone 240 SS CL SM flash. When I unplugged the sensor the SD-24 code would flash on the dash. Dave assured me it was working properly. In my mind I still wasn't 100% sure so a couple months ago I decided to upgrade to the cluster flash to have AFR and boost readings (not to mention more ponies). After this upgrade I was able to see the 02 sensor working properly with the AFR readings on the dash. Still today when turning the key on the 02 sensor does not flash the SD-24 code like most do until the sensor is able to make readings.Ran into a guy yesterday on a red winder with red undergrowth lights in Autrain. He said his sd-24 doesn't come up on dash when key is turned on. He said he was working with Dave to get it fixed.
I bet he's on this forum but I didnt catch his name.
Undergrowth lights? lol.....those are Zombie lights.

I know this is pretty obvious, but have you checked the power source to the AEM module?

Yes. I know my sensor was pooched. Replaced it and it's all good. My original post was more about why they fail so much and what can I do to prolong the life of them.I know this is pretty obvious, but have you checked the power source to the AEM module?

Very odd, curious what you find out. Mine has over 4000 miles on it and Ive run both klotz octane boost or boostane which contains mmt on a regular basis. The sensor is further from the turbo on all mufflers I have used it on though so maybe thats something. I believe fleecer has quite of bit of miles on his too with no issues and he probably maintains the highest average egts of anyone on this site lol

A lot of people twist their sensor wires when installing in O2 bung, this in mind is not helping sensor failures. Also my sensor some times messes up but if I drive it for a while it will come alive, don't give up on a sensor too quick.

Wondering if you could explain why this would effect the sensor?engine oil with high ZDDP?
Thanks

Contains high levels of zinc, zinc will destroy the sensor.....There is a oil wash burn in your exhaust..... I have known people to run excessive amounts of ZDDP.... Thinking more is better..... Kinda like over greasing.... Sorta say...Wondering if you could explain why this would effect the sensor?

Got a AFR gauge on for this season and was curious and watching this thread.. Kind of funny as I was looking at picking up another sensor (Bosch) to have as a spare..

is there a difference between the AEM module and the ECU master. Is one better than the other. And is there a down side to doing the loop other than removing money from your wallet
