Thanx AIRWOLF. That's exactly the way mine looks on the clutch tool. Expensive manual doesn't show that. That will save me tons of time & headaches!

center to center and alignment are two different things....
IMO alignment(parallel-ism) is MOST important....I use a flat bar and set the clutches @ 15mm offset.
In theory alignment AND parallel-ism should occur naturally if motor is set correctly....however Ive seen several instances where this doesnt occur exactly.....
at that point I feel parallel is MOST important(with 15mm offset)....and IMO a slightly STRETCHED C to C can mean more top speed....mine has been set like this since i first went thru my sled.

Dan, i see were you have the flat stock against the backside of the primary and the secondary, but i don't understand where you are measuring from and how do we adjust, when you have time can you get more info (pic's), thanks

There is a gap, or should be a gap, between the flat bar and the secondary. He is saying a 15mm gap is proper. This is adjusted with the washer spacers on the shaft the secondary mounts on.

What if it's 15mm+ or less than 15mm, since the secondary floats a little. Do we make sure it's pushed tight against the jacksaft when shimming?

hey guys...
15mm is the average.....take alook at the manual...I think it says 15mm +-.....
yah it does slide on jackshaft so it would be anywhere from 14.5mm to 16mm( on average)...but check those specs.
I slide mine all the way back and make sure its 15mm.
the KEY here is that FRONT AND BACK measurements are the SAME....meaning all is parallel.....(measure distance at frontside of 2ndary and rear side of 2ndary...

Where are measureing from on the Front side? Back side of both clutches looks straight forward... I know how to measure off the front side of the secondary, but how do you measure from the front of the Primary?

No measurement on the primary. You take 2 measurements on the secondary. One at the front of the secondary to the straight edge and one at the rear of the secondary to the straight edge. If these 2 measurements are the same your alignment is perfect. If these 2 measurements are different you will have to loosen your motor mounts and align the primary to make the 2 measurements equal.

that must be a pain in the a$$ loosening the motor mounts to align the primary

Adjustment is pretty easy..it's just getting everything out of the way to adjust.

OK, I got it now... I kept starring at Dan's picture and now I see what he was talking about. When he said front and rear. I thought he was talking about the Front side (Heleix) and the Jackshaft side (back side) to the Primary, when you were really talking about the two ends. Duhhh.

and IMO a slightly STRETCHED C to C can mean more top speed....mine has been set like this since i first went thru my sled.
I thought the motor adjustment back and forward was fix on that sled?
