Has anyone ran into this before? The clutch cover was rubbing on the gas tank and created a noticeable groove where the material was removed. With a feeler gauge, I measured the groove depth to be 0.75mm. Does anyone know the thickness of these tanks?
I did not want to risk a potential gas leak on top of the hot exhaust, so i traced the arc and cut it out to ensure that there were no more points of contact.

I had a crack in the exhaust shield and the tank started to melt. I think the outer layer was somewhere between 2-3mm thick. Luckily there was a white inner layer!
You could apply some plastic padding/spacle to cover up the groove?

Ok that's good to know! I didn't realize there was an inner liner. Thanks for the reassurance.I had a crack in the exhaust shield and the tank started to melt. I think the outer layer was somewhere between 2-3mm thick. Luckily there was a white inner layer!
