Went through a million posts and have all sorts of clutching choices, started trying different combos but have run out of snow now. Heading west to Revy for a week next week. Need "good" set-up! Have the following weights in shop, 8BU10, 8DN00 and 89A10. Also have Hi-tech ER(w/48 helix) - sled is stock 2003 RX Mtn, only change is set secondary to 80 d(6-2). Please help!!! Would like to possibly use 8DN00, tried and seemed not as snappy as stock weights. Could use more weight in them possibly? Have 13.3 steel inner and outer.

I would start with 8BU10, 2 steel rivets and 14.5 rollers. I am assuming that Revy is 4,000 feet ish. Try your sled out when you get there, should hit about 10,400 out of the hole and hold between 10,4 and 10,200 all the way to say 50mph. If your rpm is too low lighten up the rivets. I run 2 alum 10.3's at 9-12m feet, switch to steel outer and leave alum inner at
6-9,000 feet. and love the way it preforms. Take lots of extra rivets, and when you find what works best write it down. I change my clutch based on where I'm going everytime, if I'm riding for more than one day :D

Thanks, the 05 set-up seems to be popular. I am ordering the rollers to change out and will try. The 8DN00 look simular to the original 8FA weights, I've tried them I just don't have the rivet weight set properly. Would like to make sure set-up is solid, I realize may take some tinkering unfortunately not set up to drill and pound rivets there need to be close from get go. Will try - I appreciate the help this site is amazing - I'm happy I bought YAMAHA and sold the doo.

Help! Out of Time

Ok, loaded up the 8DN00 with 17.2 steel inner and outer not sure of total weight. Going to take the 89A10 and 8BU10's too, don't have the smaller rollers available will I be ok with the 16.5 and what rivets should I be using!!! Help, leaving Tuesday for 4000 - 8000' and want a GOOD starting point. I'm too new to this and want to have fun!

If your Sled is Stock My setup seems Good

Ask Lincoln at Vision Motorsports what He did to Mine
