I just finished installing a clutch kit from Schmidt brothers they call the comfort clutch kit it is absolutely fantastic best money spent on my machine so far on my nytro!!!

Just did a 20 mile ditch bang shake down on the nytro ........the lower rpm engagement is awesome, easy load and unload but best is when your in a tricky spot it is sure nice to have more predictable acceleration, looking forward to doing their overdrive clutch work.....

Did you do the helix kit or just the stage 1?

Can't beat their comfort clutch. Much easier loading and unloading from trailer and no power loss or top speed. Have had mine for 2 years now and love it.

So what does the comfort kit include?
Looks like a new primary spring from their website.
Does it do anything to reduce max rpm?

I recently bought an 08 Nytro and it is over reving.

Spring and rollers....It reduces engagement RPM and keeps you lower in the curve throughout the entire range. I really liked the results.

Great, Thanks! I know they have the stage two , which comes with the helix. But I was just looking at the stage 1 for this year to see what kind of a difference that made?? Will the sled still pull the skis with that kit?? or does that take to much out of it.

My previous response was for the comfort kit. I don't have any experience with the stage 1 or 2 kit but would expect them to be more performance oriented tuning clutch performance according to rider & style.

I didn't find that the comfort kit reduced performance at all; in fact, I believe it enhanced it in all regards. Somewhere (I think on the schmidt bros site) there is a graph showing what the kit does and it effectively lowers RPM throughout the entire operating range to keep RPMs in the "sweet spot". Based on the graph, the Nytro's RPMs in stock form are too high.

Again, I liked the results and saw no perceptible negative performance impacts.

I just did the comfort clutch kit, I look forward to sending them my clutches in the off season for them to do the overdrive machining.

The stage two is worth every penny! It does a great job of putting the power on the snow. Smooth take offs and a ton of power down low and mid range.

Yes, was just thinking about doing the comfort kit for this year, doing the rest next year( the helix and secondary spring). Just was wondering how much difference the comfort kit alone made
