OK i have a 2006 GT with about 5800 miles on it. Do I need to redo the clutch buttons and o rings to quiet the clutch down. I tried to search but not much has been posted on this for a while....

my 07' GT w/ 660 miles sounds kinda lous but there again im not use to it. hopefully its the way its suppose to be. are you guys running shims in the secondary to bring the belt above. mine sits pretty near even w/ the top w/ a new belt.

IMO, the o-ring kit is not the best solution. It does not quiet down the clutch any longer than a properly packed with shims & standard sliders. Even worst, the button that hold the o-ring tend to twist as it ages & only partially make contact.. from there it goes bad fast. Buy the shims instead... or make some from a can of bud if the shims are too thick(drink the beer first) and use already conditionned(used) buttons.... they seem to wear slower than new ones.

my 2 cents..

ps.. i made my own tool to open those clutches.. so now i maintain & fix mine myself

So what does the tool look like ? Can you take a picture and post it ?

What is missing from the previous picture is the 4' pipe pryer + the 1/2" ratchet driver..... possibly propane torch.
