Currently running helix on 6-1. Looking to get off rev limiter in whole shot. If I change back to 3-1 stock setting hwhat would this do?
Approximately how many top rpms would I lose?

Running a turbo and just want to fix hole shot rev limiter issues and I am thinking this might help. Top rpm is at 9050 with 6-1 wrap.

Any ideas?

I think you would it would change around 200rpm with that.

Do you have a steeper helix? You can try 3-1 (which isn't stock, 3-3 is) it should drop a little but a helix change would be better. my .02

I would adjust your primary weights loading the heals up with weight also a multi angle helix would help as well. I think Dalton has an R series helix that deals with initial over rev. You want good grip on your belt so I wouldn't suggest wrapping your secondary any lower than 6/1 with the turbo assuming you have stock secondary

I am still running the clutching how it was set up. 47 helix wrapped 6-1. Running Polaris weights so not adjustable. Was told to switch to 3-1 if hitting limiter. I don't have another helix or anything right now so just looking for a quick fix till I can get stuff. Gonna try it. Can always put it back if needed.
Sled rocks everywhere but that initial hit that hits the limiter.

Mine is set at 6 & 1 with heavily loaded weights and is pining off of the limiter, Hauck told me to go to 3 & 3 to lose 200 rpms I am running a switch at 6 & 9 lbs

Are you running the 10 series weights , like 10-60 , 10-64's or something like that ?

Not really sure what that means ?

Not sure what the lol means either? Please explain.

Yes running 64's. The sled pulls like a freight train at 7#'s. Just gotta get the dead start hole shot figured out. Ran sled up to 118 on the speedo and gets there quick. Can't be happier with the set up. Just need a little fine tuning.

If your running a turbo, you might want to change your gearing. I hit the rev limiter no matter what i tried until I geared up. If i threw too much weight on my primary weights it would run fine but in loose snow would upshift too fast. I don't have the ratio in front of me at this moment but I went to the XTX gearing. I have the LTX. I should go to higher gearing but am happy with what I have.

Also tried the 8DN. ???? You must be a micro manager to notice any difference with the 8DN on the Viper. Unless i don't have an issue like a lot of you guys.

I would put in 10-66 and as yamyfreak said gear up , I wouldn't go to 3-1 from 6-1 now maybe 3-3 , but if it's upshifting good I would gear up a tooth or two and 10-66 weights

Thanks for the input. Gonna try 3-3 first. Then will go to 66's. I like to change one thing at a time to see what happens. Thanks again.
