Just picked up my first 05 Rage.....Very Cool.

The sled has 3700 miles on it. The Rollers feel okay, but it sounds like I have a bad roller.

Have any of you guys have to replace rollers with this kind of milage? Or have brought a Clutch Tune Up Kit at this mileage?

Thanks,

Toad :rocks:

You could be hearing the famous three banger clutch rattle at idle????????? If so, maybe check the history of your sled to see if it had the update.. I know mine is 180 degrees different than it was before the fix... Hope this is it.. MM.

I am hearing the rattle at idle. I have to transfer the 2009 warranty still; can you tell me more about the "Three Banger Clutch Rattle"?

I pick up two 05 rages and they are both rattling.

What MM is talking about is the Yamaha clutch kit on the '05 for a clutch rattle. Check with your dealer to see if it has been done or just take it to them and have it done.
Another reason they rattle is, carbs out of sync.

FWIW, my Rage sounds loud (clangy) at idle, but seems fine under way. My Vector, on the otherhand, seems the opposite: purrs like a kitty at idle, but is a little clangy underway.

I'd like you to be happy for once it snows, but it sounds pretty normal. I'd say you might want to jack up the back and get the clutch engaged and see what you think?

good to hear it sounds normal at idle, it's my first 4stroke..not sure how they sound yet..I'll have to rev' it up this fall, since it's "summerized".....

DaJudge-

Thanks for the carb info, that will be my next step if needed....By the way...what year Nytro seat fit on your '05 Rage?....Any mods needed?

My Rage is a '06 and I put a '06 Nytro seat on it. The only modification was a trim of 3 1/2 inches off of the gas tank cover.
