Clutch tuning Help Please

I use non-chlorinated brake cleaner, and a NEW red scotch-brite.
The NC brake cleaner leaves NO residue and if you use a used scotchbrite, it may be too fine, adn actually polish the clutch, causing it to slip
that is realative, according to belt compound

mike what i tried was stiffer secondary spring then i backed off the tension from 6-1 to 3-2 and that took the black marks off the clutch or slippage and still had rev

I have always used 600 grit sandpaper on my clutches with good results. 600 is whats recomended in the yamaha service manual.
