Could not break 120 yesterday,my bud on his gt had trouble reaching 116 gps mine ran 117 three times until the nice 06 yammi rear inside wheels decided to check out, than speeds would slow from there, best speed i could run at end of day was 116 consistant yes, fast no,glare ice with couple ripples nesr starting end,ice was tore up from alot of sleds and 4-wheelers,also we both struggled to get the rpm's we wanted, started out at 10,200 and ended up at 10,600 at best, now the set up i used to get to 117 was the same set up i ran on a snowy lake last weekend, and it ran 10,800-11,000 dalton weights would only run 10,500 with total of 65.5 grms. but all tip weight @ 4.7 rear open,i was unable to get aluminum rivets that was 13.5 they were all 10.3 length,i did not have enough of the 2.44 steel rivets.

Those are still pretty good speeds Pete. Especially since you didn't have the RPMs where you wanted them. Thanks for the invite Saturday - but I had to work. Figures, it was the first Saturday I had to work in about a year! Please keep me in mind for future test & tune sessions though.
Are you running the Dalton red primary and secondary? Like Dan (Machzd), I'm running the weights and helix as supplied by ProLine, but with the Dalton red primary. I have not tested on radar, but I'm very happy with the way it pulls. The 23 top gear is going in on Tuesday AM.

Honestly,at those RPMS those speeds are decent...Mine just starts to roll at 10,700 then near 10,900 shes pulling hard...anything less IMO wont pull any higher speeds..
-are you running 23 gear?...if 23 did you cut clutches?
-are you running a ripsaw?..do you run slp wear pads?
-any ram air or box mod?
-did you add fuel?
I think the ramair at speed really starts to add HP...i know ive talked about this before, but the more I ride this sled, and the more i run against SIMILARLY clutched sleds as mine(Ive been telling everyone about the same dalton setup)I can still walk away pretty hard when we get to 40mph or so...
I feel like the ramair just start slamming air in and viola...now,the other thing ofcourse is the 1 inch track..you guys all know ive never run the ripsaw, and dont like them....there must be some MPH gain here too.
Love these threads, nice to hear what others are running out there...I hope we get some good radar ice sometime this season....we got a ton of snow now and 2 foot of slush on all the lakes...march will have the gun out alot more.
Get those rivets and lets see how she runs revving 10,900 or so all else being equal.

I just got back from a 1000 mile trip... Highest speed i saw on snow was 111 dreammeter.. Conditions were not perfect by anymeans but wasnt that bad eithers...
I think we expect too much from these 150hp sleds they do weigh 575lbs dry..

very true welter....
I am still astonished I can run toe to toe with machs, which are 20 more HP and supposidly 25lbs lighter...couldnt be happier being that Im an EX machz guy....all the speed without the problems of the DOOS..and clean 4 stroke with reg gas,no oil...no smell....I couldnt ever imagine riding a 2 stroke again...

Hi guys we just got back from a week up north, and my sled was running a little funny, some valve noise and possible exhaust leaks, most likely from my little filp over on the grass last fall, anyway i ended up trading for the 07 rtx at Garys in caribou, and all stock it ran good, right out of the box,but it was slightly broke in by the dealer who used it for a demo,it had 423 miles on it,his mechanic had it as a demo,i would have rather broke it in myself but oh well,i wanted it that night so i had to take what he already had set up and running, well it worked preety well,i like the way the 22 pulls, but still feel it top ends less than my old er and my boys 06 rtx w/24 top, even in the trails,i can pull ahead by 4-5 sleds than they can pull right on by me by a few on top,not alot but some, and i did gps it in lose dry snow with it all stock at 104 gps than i installed my fix lid it went 108 gps that was with simmons w/6" carbides on,but earlier on a lake it went 112 gps with a bare track, and both of them 104-108 speeds were w/bare track,on stock ripsaw track, now we have added 96 down the middle,so when i get some ice,my speed sheave back on it,or my extra clutch cut for O.D. i will see what the 22 really runs out on ice with 10,800-11,000 rpms runs, but right now all stock even with the studs it runs 11,100-11,200 that is with a cut stock helix with silver at 80 degrees,on stock weights with stock primary spring.

Stock Attak, broken in by the Yami method, mid windshield, same factory plugs, clutch, track, no studs; only C & A skis set at a 1/2 inch toe-out and no other mods............125 speedo. Second run was 129. I found by leaning back instead of forward I gained that extra 4 ticks on the dream. Wawa Lake and the Magpie. These sleds are fast.

I finally hit 115 On the dreammeter Twice the other day in what i would call perfect ON SNOW conditons on a freshly groomed Railroad bed..
Not bad for a sled with over 4000 miles

Good for you Weltracer. I know you have been wanting to break that 110 area for a long time. 115 on snow is very good.

Remember 115 on speedo is less than 100 true. On mine 119 equals 100, not studded.

My gps is mounted on my bars , as so I always have an honest reference. Ran today on ice, snow, ice, #*$&@ ice and snow over 3000 ft speedo flickering between 117 & 120, gps flickering between 102 & 104. I think the gps is always playing catch up, but not certain.
Now having said that, the good news is that I lined up with my buds F1000 and '06 Mach Z. Both of these guys are major tuners, F1000 has logic fuel controller, DND Y-Pipe, Bulls eyes, clutching, 14" hacksaw, Reflashed CPU(this is only what I know about) Mach Z, clutched, '07 CPU reflash ( what I know about).
I really had no business lining up with these guys. But hell you only live once!
Immediate 3 sled lengths lead, held it to about 110 speedo (couldn't read gps). I had to back off as I was getting into some rough. They were neck and neck with each other and only slightly gaining on me.
Thanks Dan (Machzed) and Bluebyou2000 your tips are great. This is a 150hp sled, what more can you ask for. Gotta love it!
