I have over 12000 miles on my sled, 10 000 miles with Ulmer stage 1, Excell exhaust, PC5, K&N Filters.
The Ulmer 50y weights are still pretty good however the bushings in them are toast.
Am also changing the bushing and the slides in the spider.
Have already replaced a main bushing in the secondary as my ramps were breaking off.
I called Allen and he had weights and slides in the mail to me that afternoon.
Yes expensive. What in snowmobiling isnt? I think weights, rollers, slides, ramps. bushings and a little labour to crack the primary and change the bushing and slides would be around $550.00 to $600 CDN. Not too bad if you consider I have not bought any pistons, rings, cylinders or chaincase parts yet, other than bearings in 12000 miles.
This set up is way more exciting than my other stock Nytro. Especially with the 1.75' track compared to the stock one.

I am interested in purchasing one as well. How is it much more exciting than your stock xtx? Better pull? TOP SPEED? HAVE you raced them against one another? Is it super noticeable? In my experience with clutch kits ''well i think it's better'' they are spendy just want to feel a noticeble difference if not would just stay stock mine is xtx 1.75.

I have a stock xtx as well as the one with the above goodies. Two completely different sleds. The stock one with a stock track is a dog compared to the one with the goodies and a 1.75 track. I wouldn't say there is any more top end but getting to top end is a lot of fun. Unless one is strictly a trail rider, this model should have never been released with the track it has on, What is it? Less than 1.25? Pretty disappointing in the deep for a heavy sled.
I forgot to mention there is also an Ulmer "H" secondary helix on that package too.

I have the SB Stage I primary upgrade with smaller rollers and softer spring so it engages around 2800 rpm and is much smoother on the throttle out of corners. The SB Stage II changes the helix and if you wanted Chris will machine the plates the belt rides on so it closes a little tighter pushing the belt higher up (creating a larger "gear" at high speed) giving you a few more mph. After riding 1000 miles I can honestly say it is a sweet setup. Engages low, comes on strong and smooth and tops out at 103 on the optimomiter... I also have the SB airbox mod which I swear adds a little snap above 50 mph when cold air is injected into the airbox and sounds fantastic. My Camoplast 1.6" hooks up in everything and pushes a lot of snow off trail, was super in 24" of new snow ripping down fresh logging roads and 45 km of unridden rivers. I am sure Ulmer's kit is top notch too, I have all their oilite bushings. Two super companies for us to support as they support out Nytros, thanks.
