Well it's just about that time again and I still haven't done anything for clutching, so I'll ask for a little bit input. So far Im going to be ordering the shock wave variable cam and I'm guess a set of super tip weights, how much weight?. What should I be looking for as for primary and secondary springs?

Thanks

I would stay away from the shockwave...more negatives then benifits. Primary weight is impossible to give you a number on unless you tell us how much boost your running & even then it,s gonna be a shot in the dark.
I have had great success tuning turbo,s with a stock or close to stock helix running 20/50 2 speeds up to hi-teens in boost.

Oh yeah?.. I thought that cam was good? I hear you on the weights, im not looking for the actual weight but more, is there different type of them weights?.. as in adjustable from 60-80 or from 70-90 type thing. as for the boost well right now it's 8lbs

Way way back when i was running 8-10 pounds boost i used heavy hitters loaded to about 68 grams & a helix close to stock.

hi turk!
what degrees on the stock helix are you talking about? And why are the shock wave helix bad? what kind of spring are you using in your secondary clutch?
Many questions... sorry

Apex stock helix 51/43 which I believe measures around 48/42 sec spring white...typical wrap 6-1..

I do always use yamaha helixes too. but not always stock apex, I use a few of them depending on conditions and snow
