Will i have to change the stock clutching if i put NOS on my apex?

NOS-PRO would be the best one to answer your question..
The simple answer is no. "most" guy that runs N2O clutch there sled for off the bottle. Clutch your sled to turn about 10,300 and then when you hit the button you will gain around 400-1000 rpm depending on how big of shot your using.
now, my opinon is dont waste your money. n20 set-ups cost 1000-1500 and by the time you add in hoses, gauges, extra bottles, and some way to refill them your well over 2,000. And you can still only hold 2-3 lbs on your sled (unless you buy a boss seat with bottle storage - More $$$) and that 2-3 lbs goes VERY quickly if you run a big shot. If you dont runa big shot its not even worth it. one more thing, a 50hp rated shot will actually get you 20-25hp if its dialed in perfect. Just my .02 Eric

SRXSRULE is correct, depending on the shot you get, the rpms can range from 500-1,200 which I have found out with these kits.
Stock clutching will work with 60 and under, but whoevers clutch kit you get, (that has adjustable weights), you can get the right rpm by adding or taking out washers.
The 45 shot uses very little bottle, and can last 10-12 1/4mile runs, where a 80-100 will only last 5 1/4mile runs. On the trail, you can use it sparingly, and hit the button out of the corners till full speed, and then let off of the button. This lasts me all day with a 2.5 lbs. bottle.

thanks for the input guys. just thinking of doing something to my sled for alittle more hp and thought NOS would be the cheaper way to go.

It is cheaper than a turbo, and you can have a stock engine for trail, especially if the wife or kid drives it a couple times, and then have the button for the fast fun times. That is why I like it! Turbos, and chargers are on all the time, and could get warm playing in the powder off-trail or boondocking in tight brush, or maybe get you in trouble in the twisties. All in all, it is up to the owner of the sled, and hope you find the power adder that will work best for you.

thanks nos-pro what about engine reliability with a NOS system? what do you think of the boondocker system? do you have to heat the bottle on that system?

NOS is the best bang for your Buck. Not sure how you cna get 2 grand into a NOS setup. Mosat kits are complete with everything you need to make them work.
I do agree the some kits out there hp numbers are inflated. But there are a couple of kits that are what they say they are for power.

I have well over 2,000 miles on my attak, and have put 40-50 lbs. of nitrous into it now, and the first time I pressed the button,. it had 12 miles on the clock. It was on Rib Lake with a radar, and went thru at 127mph with clutching and nitrous that was not tuned at that point.
Still running the same plugs as winter. No problems at all. Had nitrous on my 03 RX1, 4,000 miles with no problems, and currently have an 05 RX1, 3,500 miles with no problems. All nitrous sleds.
I ran my SRX out of fuel on the nitrous, and burned it up, but totally my fault.
Boondocker and Boss Noss do not require the bottle to be heated either I believe.

BoonDockers does require correct bottle temps... Holtzman/Boss are basically the same kit... They just regulate the nitrous pressure (low pressure) from the bottle to the nozzle so that changing bottle pressures have less effect on the flow/amount of nitrous at the nozzle... They are more consistent for this reason, that is if you have wide bottle temperature swings... If there aren’t wide temperature swings I don’t see this type of system being necessary.the boondocker system? do you have to heat the bottle on that system?
I've seen some RX-1 kits with the bottle mounted above the valve cover (couldn't do that on the Apex no room) if it's as hot above that valve cover as my dads RX was you shouldn't need any more heat than that.
Didn't need a bottle heater with my BoonDockers kit on my big bore Viper, mounted it above the can on my SLP triples, 900-1000psi all day long.
If I would have had an issue maintaining heat was going to use these to keep bottle pressure up.
Adhesive grip heater for use with any 12-volt / 3-amp system...$29.99
(2nd item from bottom)http://www.heeters.com/snbgrips.shtml
I might be using these with my custom SC/NOS setup if I end up mounting 2 two-pounders vertical back on the tunnel extension (so I still have room for fuel)... Or I might tap into the rear heat exchanger plumbing and build a "heated cradle" to mount the bottles in... Haven't decided yet... Need some SNOW dangit.
