At the end of last year I put on a fully clipped Cobra track to replace my worn out Ripsaw. First set of Hyfax went 150 miles and they were worn right through. We had some marginal snow in area so I blamed it on that. I also loosened the track whereas it's ratcheting a little now in powder at WOT. New slides this year have 130 miles on them and the rear is almost gone again. I realize they wear fast at first and then seem to slow down but the track clips on the cobra has holes in them and they seem to act as a cheese grader on the new slides. Anyone else having this problem?? Do I need to add more wheels or loosen the track up alot more. As is I am way looser than spec now.

I would suggest getting some type of ice scratcher. I put over a thousand miles on my wifes MTX with a 2" paddle with ice scratchers. I think that anything over 1.25" your just asking for it.

No issue here, not that it helps you much, but it's not the track. I know the hyfax on mine are well over 2000 miles, all run in the northern lower.

Do you have melted plastic inside the holes on your clips?

I did on the set from the end of last year. I haven't checked to see on the new ones but I suspect they are the same I figured this had to be from running the track too tight..

My Cobra burns the slides quicker than my ripsaw.

I am at 1,500 miles on my slides with the Cobra track and the slides still look good. My Cobra track is clipped every 3rd though.

Its all about the driving conditions. Have smoked my slides with the stock ripsaw riding 200miles - high speed on hardpacked/bad snow conditions, and now I have 1000miles with my cobra in loose snow conditions with almost no slides wear at all.
Btw, I have the "hyfax extender wheels spacer kit" from pioneerperformance and this kit really seems to work as promised.

If you ride SAND/DIRT roads clips with holes tend to hold DIRT/SAND and grinds HYFAX pretty quick! watch out for BROKEN clips they tend to break easy.
