Saw a code 22 flash on the sled tonight while I was at a gas station. After shutting it down to fuel up and restarting it the code never came on again. What gives?

Something to do with the airbox sensor. Maybe a short circut or loose connection. Im haveing codes cone up on mine that i havent seen before to. Soon as i shut off and start again its all fine. I think yamaha didnt do such a good job with the electrical on these sleds

It is the air box sensor. I got the code and it wouldn't go away. Replaced the sensor and it cleared. About $30 for the sensor.

I had the code come on again yesterday, shut the machine off and it went away again.

I was also getting the temp light come on alot yesterday, riding in absolute ideal conditions. Stopping for a minute woudl make it go away, as would dipping into the deep snow for a few seconds. Very strange.

Not getting the 22, but was getting the temp light coming on and had to stop for awhile to get it to clear. A few more miles it would come on again. Pulled the skins and noticed one of my tubings had made contact with the radiator fan and was not allowing it to turn. Another fews miles it happened again. Turned out that the tube in contact with the fan made the 10amp fuse pop. Replaced it with the spare and no more problems. Did you replace the airbox sensor for the 22 error?

Nope, haven't done anything about that. I don't think I've ever noticed my fan come on. Ever.

Same heating issue, never dawned on me to check the fan... I might take a stroll down to the shop and take a peek:-)

Did you put spacers/washers under your rad to create more room for your fan when you installed your trail tank...your fan could be hitting your tank??

Yep I caused the problem when I had the tank out. Yes the spacers are there I simply had a tube get in the way that worked its way down to the fan and would not allow it to turn and poped the radiator fan fuse. It is hard to tell when the fan is on because it does not make any noise. If you shine a flashlight in there you can see the fan spin. Without it, you will overheat for sure.....

You think? I've been toying with the idea of getting rid of my rad. I can't figure out what good it does.

What did you use for spacers? Where was the fan fuse, and what type of fuse is it? I might check that out this week.

Believe me, if you remove it it will overheat! It is a 10amp fuse located on the right side. A spare comes with it. Is is very quiet and difficult to tell when it spins unless you have the hood off and look at it while it is idling. It will come on just prior to your temp lite coming on.

I'm going to try changing the fuse tomorrow night, but it sucks that I'll still have no way of knowing if it's working or not

With your temp light coming on if you pull over your fan should kick right in. You will hear it with helmet off but it is rather quiet.. Alot troubles in the past was the antifreeze was never mixed properly .I had basically pure antifreeze in mine .
