So here's the story... I threw a stud and punctured the heat exchanger I noticed the heat light but figured I could at least get off the lake. Before I could the sled shut down. Had to tow back. Anyway got the exchanger welded up and all back together now it starts and shuts down after 20 seconds flashing code 30. This is low oil pressure I believe, but the oil level is fine and new. I am stuck here, any ideas?

The oil pressure sensor is right beside the oil filter. Follow the wire up to the head, it wil be melted and grounded to the block somewhere. Just went through this on a sled I picked up on the cheap.

However, if you got it that hot, good chance the head gasket is gone too. So once you get it running, check the coolant for oil and the oil for coolant in it before you ride it. Mine needs a head gasket

Looks like your right I'll fix the wire. If I do need to replace the head gasket how hard of a job is it? I've done single cylinders before on dirt bikes. Much different?

To be honest ive never done it. Thats what youtube is for. LOL

I have a buddy thats done it before, from what he said, the only tricky part is setting the timing correctly with the camshafts when you put it back together. Gonna hopefully get the motor out tonight.

Probably came from the air box. The oil canister vents into the air box and if you tip the sled too much or have it over filled a bit it will make a mess. Open the air box lid and check

My 13 flashes LO-OP on start up, goes away after a second or so. Is this what you see too?

Changed the wire to the sensor and no more code flashing, but it still doesn't seem to run normal. It dies when I try to rev it up. Drained the oil and doesn't seem to be milky, any other way to check head gasket? Compression test I guess?

My nytro was overheated before I bought it. I ended up doing the head gasket. It isn't hard with a service manuel, but takes time. It took me about 15 hrs, I'm sure it would be faster if i had to do it again. The oil leak may be the o-ring on the oil cooler or the return line next to it. I just replaced them both on my sled. The leak wasn't big at first but got worse. The air box has to come out to see it.

Just pulled the head gasket is there any tell tale sign that it was actually blown? I mean it did idle fine just died when I would hit the gas. Anyway it's getting changed now. Just wondering.

Have the head planed and if it's warped bad make sure the cam bearing saddles have not become miss aligned. I had to look real close on the exaust side to see the carbon path in the fire ring.

mine overheated the same way, head and block was warped. make sure you check both! I only checked the head the first time around. FML

How do you check for warp?
Also were your sleds still idling like mine?
Or not running at all?

My sled actually ran fine. It would idle all day long with no problems. When I went 5 miles down the trail it was pushing antifreeze out the overflow. When it pushed enough antifreeze out the light came on. Take the head to a machine shop and have it checked. They only shaved about .003 off my head to get it flat. Cost was about $40 bucks. Cheap insurance for what it takes to pull the head.
