Oil pouring into the air box, error code 30

Little update from last night. Drain the oil and filled it to the low line because the engine was not warm. No more puking of oil. I don't have a leak down tester and my compression tester does not have the right thread adapter for tiny plugs that are in these units. The temp sensor wire along with a couple others were melted to block. The temp sensor was the only one that actually melted through the heat shrink and into the wire, this is what was causing the error code 30. Welder is welding the heat exchanger tonight or tomorrow afternoon and I will then pressure test the coolant system once its up to temp to see if there are any gasket or warped head issues. Hopefully everything will be ok, makes me nervous knowing it was hot enough to melt the temp wire to the block

Thanks everyone for all the excellent replies that have got me to the point I am at now!!!

Let us know how you make out. Best of luck!!

Pete

What's the best way to flush the coolant out of the exchanger for the welder?

Just don't use brake cleaner on it to clean it if you're going to weld it.Some nasty toxins can be released when certain brake cleaner burns. Hope it all goes well for you. As far as flushing it out I'd probably put a air fitting on one side and blow threw it as best as possible. If needed run a bit of gas or kerosene through it to flush it. Heck plain ol water would even work. Just need it clean and dry.

Hope it all goes well for you.

5 different guys "yeah I can do that" , "when you want me to come over", still untouched since weds. Could have put the hours in by now for the new exchanger, but never ordered one.
Boo hoo, I'm still wining. Hopefully the welder comes through tonight. If not the front suspension and subframe will be off tomorrow and a new heat exchanger in on Tues.
Maybe I'll get to see groomed trails next weekend.

My question is, Will you be running studs anymore????

Nope. I don't run them on my XTX and the SE won't see them again

If you need the grip that much go with the ice ripper track

Just an update guys, took the sled out Friday night and dropped it off to the welder, picked it up on Saturday and when I got home I pressure tested the system and it leaked. Took it back out to the welder on Sunday morning and he fixed it up, pressured tested goo this time at the welder site. Re-assembled last night and took it for a 2 mile test run all seems good. Going to take it out for a quick 30 miles or so tonight locally before heading up to Tug Hill.

Thanks for all the help and input!!!
