Hello all,
The speedometer is dead so I get the code 42 which is understandable. But, after a little while I get code 84, and when I drop the gas the T.O.R.S system kicks in and dumps the rpm and the motor firing back.
My question is, does the speedometer failure have this effect on T.O.R.S so it is all natural with a broken speedo or could it be two separate failures. I've tried to search here but I really can't find the "right" answer for my question, thou I'm sorry if I missed it...

Not having the speedo sending info to the computer will affect how the motor runs. Same thing happened to me. Gauge was not working and sled started to back fire and would hardly move. Turned out that the plug to the speedo was loose. Snapped plug together the right way and worked fine again.
