- 2010 vector LTX GT; 2014 SR Viper LTX SE
went for a 150km ride Saturday, wife's 2010 RS Vector LTX GT (approx 9000kms) showed code 46 just before getting back to the cottage, with no apparent symptoms... got it in my shop Sunday and pulled the voltage regulator to check the diodes-seems to forward bias fine... Checked the battery, gettting 12.7 volts at the battery at rest, Just over 14 at idle (approx 1800 rpm) and around 17.5 v at 5000 rpm. Looked over the visable parts of the harness for any chaffing and found none, and checked all fuses which are all good....Any one have any more tips on what may be causing this code?

17.5v is EXTREMELY high. Like burn up components high. It should never exceed low-mid 14v
1st thing is remove the battery and have it load tested. One bad cell will cause havoc in the system. I just went thru electrical problems with my Apex. Static voltage was 12.6v, yet the battery had a bad cell.
If the battery checks out, next I'd be checking the ground blocks that run thru the harness from the regulator along the frame to the ECM. They are prone to corrosion. If they are flakey, they will get HOT. Let the machine idle and carefully grab them.
After that, the voltage regulator itself would be on my list. They are only $125 and worth replacing if you absolutely can't find any other problems .
