My '11 Apex SE has failed to start twice on cold mornings. Both times the temp was about 0 degrees F. It will start but then stalls and will not restart. I've tried holding the key on after it starts but it stalled after about 5 seconds. Holding the key on has worked in the past sometimes but not always. I had to pour hot water on the thermostat housing to get it to restart and idle properly. Is there any better solution to this annoying problem?

My riding bud has exact same sled and cold starting problems last winter such as you describe.
First thing he tried was installing new plugs, problem 90% solved. That would be the first thing to try imo.
This year the odd cold starting issue again. What he has found works on real cold mornings is to give the throttle a very slight pull before starting, so far as cold as minus 30c, this has worked well for him.
Cheers

If you got electricity I got something that works great every time at even 45 below F. No sense repeating it all here just go to thread copied here. Stan
