Who answered your email?

I would call them, ask for Scott, he may be able to help you more on the phone then an email. He was very helpful for me a few weeks ago. More so on the phone then when I emailed them.

Have you tried your dealer? They may help you out? Try to make a deal and have you pay or labour or the parts and the dealer pays the other? You never know...
Or if you are comfortable with it you can get the parts and install them yourself depending on the dealer quote. In the VIP section you can access the bulletin and it can help guide you though the process.

You do have to try your dealer first.First thing they will ask.If dealer doesnt satisfy then you need to call. The number I called was given to me by my dealer.I believe it is same number they call.I had to call twice and then they give authorization to the dealer to make repairs.
Decomp spring upgrade can do one of two things.A lighter spring will cause decomp to disengage sooner which would increase cranking compression or its stiffer which would engage decomp longer decreasing cranking compression.
In playing with decomp engagement on quads more cranking compression=faster start IF battery can handle cranking motor over quickly.Changing spring must only slightly change cranking compression since most of the actual pressure is determined by how much the exhast valve is actually opened by the decomp pin against the bucket.
Many of the XC quad guys use a 24v system to start thier quads quickly.Might be a consideration if really concerned.
