Colored Loops for Curve Skis....any interest?

Well....trying to mate two pieces of plastic together that were not molded to fit together is indeed an afterthought. Ha

I have one more option to try. I pulled some slydog loops off of a set of skis as they look like they could work. The slydog loops are nearly half the price of curve loops and they have many colors to chose from.

LOL, I get its an afterthought :) but the ideas to not make it look like one, right? Remember you make some kick #*$&@ aftermarket stuff.. you need to hold everything to the same higher level of perfection. ;)!

Very true! My original thinking was this was more of a recycle and make it work idea if guys wanted it. If I invest too much into it then for sure Curve will release colored loops.

So the slydog loops just might be the best option yet. Thread a coupling nut onto the front skag stud and then secure loop with bolt. No additional brackets.

If it's my third strike, then I'm out.....and we just wait for Curve. Ha.

I really like that idea!! You could also make a pipe spacer with a tab welded to it. Then you can bold thru the sides of the skis and bold that loop to that tab. Just an additional thought. I like the slydog loops..very stream line.

Wheeew...I was really sweating the third strike! lol

My favorite variation so far!

Those look legit. Definitely an option worth considering.

I really like the slydog loops! Looks to flow pretty well! By purpose of loop I ment the amount of curve the loop puts the tip of the ski at. I remember really having to flex the tip when putting on my curve loops. I was thinking that curve was designed to be at a certain point? Kinda like the C & A skis have a couple different mounting points for the loop to adjust the amount of tip curve depending on what your riding style is.

Going to finalize hardware next week. The front bolt will have to be prebent, as the top and bottom face of the front through hole are not parallel.

Sky dog loop sets retail for $50 and the most of the popular colors are available....white, silver, blue, red, orange and yellow.

Just a crazy thought. Looks to me a Polaris loop may fit wit a little trim to front tab and bolt on the underside.

I don’t have any Polaris loops around to verify anything. If it does fit does Polaris offer it in a lot of colors? Sly dog offers almost every color option. I also like the sly dog loops as they can be sourced through western power sports. I can have them in 1-2 days depending on which warehouse.

I have a friend with a spare Polaris loop. I will try to get it from him soon to see it for fit and report back asap.

Alright....got a set off current blue loops today. They look and fit up even better than the older black loop I tried last week! ;)!

Below are some pics. Front attaches with a pre bent bolt and washer and lock nut on top.

For the rear mount I threaded a coupling nut onto the front skag stud and then attach loop with flanged bolt.

At this point I'm thinking $60 for a set of loops with the hardware needed to fit them on a curve ski. I will work at adding this to my website soon. In mean time you can just PM me on here if you'd like to order a set.

Ok put the finishing touches on this today with the hardware.

Got a nice stainless allen head bolt for the front mounting bolt. Got jig figured out to bend them up in my press.

Beings the front hole in ski is larger than the bolt, I sourced a bushing to address this.

The studs are quite long on the curve skag. Once you bottom the hex coupling nut against front skag stud nut I've found that the rear loop bolt bottoms out on the skag stud before entirely snugging up the loop. Placing a washer or two between the coupling nut and skag nut will address this.

I've added the kits to my online store. Just search for curve and they will come right up.
