My cousins is a new xs 1200 and I still find it "lazy" compared to any of the Yamaha 4 strokes I have owned. Maybe were spoiled over he my lighting quick response of a throttle body per cylinderWith the XS the new iTC has instant throttle response in sport mode(3 modes for the new Drive by wire iTC system) and in sport mode the sled is very 2stroke like in response, but with a very full and thick bottom end that NO 2s has. With the header/muffler mod and ECU flashed by Guru Olivier(Boos Engineering Qc) it can make 800 owners very sad.
But the turbo will be a far cry on big power and top end speeds....just cant beat turbo power.

I assume you had in sport mode? I pulled the Edrive off the first weekend and have it setup with Pb80, It has almost too much aggressive take off the way its setup. When I swap with 800etecs they feel So Slow as they take time to spool and the raves dont open till you hold it longer...1200 just lays waist to the 800s in the first 80mph and 1.2 mile or so....that was before the mods over the summer. I hope to get some top speed now with the mods over summer.
But it pails in comparison to the simple mods on the turbos where you get huge gains...I cant wait to try/ride a new SW this winter!

Hoping she starts opening up soon my buddy is up at his cottage and he is shoveling 3 ft of snow of the deck! Don't know how much we will ride in the area as we bought quebec permits as well but there will be some miles there for sure.
