Hi I just bought a 03 RX1 and I did a comperssion test. Both outside cylinders are 205 psi with throttle wide open. The middle cylinders both have 180 psi is this normal. The sled has only 2100k on it.
Thanks for any help.

I believe they should all be the same.

RX1 is a weird one to check the compression on, since its got vacuum activated slides. Make sure that the motor is warm when testing compression, and I'm not sure if it should be done with the throttle opened or not.

With carbs open and that type of reading you carbs may be out of sync. Compression should be done with throttle closed . if not all within 10% of each other a possible ring or valve seating problem could be present.

I think you mean to say with carbs open, readings may be screwy - throttle sync won't affect WOT with such a low air volume, it would be a virtually unrestricted air passage... that is, IF the slides were opened.
At this point, it seems to weird to me to start thinking of major damage.... the outside two match and the inside two match. Thats definitely gotta be something to do with the carbs.
