We just got back on Satrurday from 3 days riding in North Bay, trails were great, especially from NB to Mattawa and back!
NB to Temisk was also great, heck they all were!
We stayed at the Travlodge(airport) but iwas $129 a nigth which included a continental breakfast, hot tub and swimming pool.
(plus it was very close, walkerin/staggering distance to Fanny's
)The other Travellodge on Lakeshore was $62.99 a night but was not near the trails or much of anything else for that matter which may make it perfect for you being since you are only staying 1 night?
Have a great trip, sure hope this rain, warmwer weather stays away for you as the trails were awesome!

yamahas said:I think so. They are fast trails from pembroke to mattawa. Never rode from mattawa to nb yet through the top trails so don't know for sure. They follow pipe lines most of the way.
If it looks like you have time ride some of the Missing link club trails. 195-197 are usually the best conditions you will ever find. I am not sure how long the trip will be but if you are there for another day a nice ride is up to Temiskaming using the A/D then A102Q. them come back down through the NB300's north of North bay take the NB301 and you will end up in mattawa and head back to North bay. Those are some of my favorite trails to ride on and they are very well kept.
You can go into temiskaming for food/gas without a Quebec trail pass but don't go past that.
- The A102Q is closed for 2-3 weeks.
- They're doing work on the pipeline, but rumour has it that they "may" be letting sleds thru.
- It's not confirmed though.
- ontarioconditions.com has lotsa info on that area.

From what I understand it is actually the AD that is closed north of the A102Q http://ontarioconditions.com/forums/ind ... ersection/
The OFSC map shows the closed trail section as the AD between the A102Q and the D trail.

- You're right "yamahas"
- From the site...
Effective Monday, March 7th - TransCanada Pipeline are closing TOP AD to all snowmobile traffic approximately 10 kms north of the A102Q intersection.
Trail Closed signs will be placed on TOP AD at both A102Q and Tilden Lake. Unfortunately there is NO DETOUR around this trail
closure.
The trail will be closed by TCPL using snow fencing to prohibit through traffic while their contractor is carrying out pipeline repairs. This trail closure will be in effect for 2 - 3 weeks.
This closure was originally scheduled for Tuesday but TCPL changed their mind less than 24 hours after notifying NBSC

Hey JROCK I will not be riding in pembroke tomorrow since its gona rain all day. I think your best bet would be to post on ontario conditions asking for an update or call the pembroke snowmobile club maybe and ask after the rain what the trails are like?

We decided to post pone the trip. Just to much rain in the forecast and temps in plus digits. Dont want to spend all that money and be sledding on water. Looks like Quebec will be hit with rain too!!! Will wait and see after this storm with temps dropping after sunday. Thanks for all the updates!!!

Deep river north to North bar was amazing yesterday. but as the days go by you will been to go more and more north. Rolphton up will be good for a few more days as long as they keep getting these cold nights.

I'm planning a trip to Rolphton on Friday. I hope the warm temps and rain don't kill the trails by then.

They should survive, Missing link has a lot of bridges so water crossings should not be a problem. I would hit up the 190's. The side trails are the best imo. They have enough snow i was getting stuck when I went to the side to let my brother catch up. Sank almost up to my waist at one point.

Yep, that's what I like about those trails, minimal swamps, great grooming, and the side trails are in heck of a lot better shape than the A trail.
I was there Monday, still had lots of snow.

Also, I came across a couple of groomers, seems like they are intent on prolonging the season as best they can.

Yes I don't think they hold back on spending on the groomer. They where open early and will close late. Always flat trails with great scenery and a little bit of what everyone wants as far as trails go. Fast wide open trails and slower forest trails with gas readily available.
