Considering purchase of a High Milage Apex XT-X

The chart said only good for 2016 up.. so earlier one's are stuck without?

2015 and older Apex sleds have either the Mono rear in a short track, or the 144” tip-up CK skid. The pre ‘16 Vector models all had the Mono. That shock only applies to the ‘16+ Singleshot skid.

Thanks.. how obvious is it too see the difference between the two shocks..

If there was not a SideWinder I woulda bought a EPS CK 144 Apex Xtx. Ice Cobra, oil tank when needed, new exhaust when needed. Woulda been way cheaper than my Winder . . . But not quite as fast.

No hesitation.

I will say it probably needs a hundred rivets replaced.

Just found this image in the post for 'Yamaha replaces 2017 APEX rear shock' which shows the two shocks side by side. The new shock now has compression and rebound adjustments.

Nice thanks.... so the new one is on top I see.. very obvious.

Thinking of buying a 2012 Apex XT-X with 18,000 miles. It has stock rear suspension and Fox Floats on the front. Hyfax and carbides are newish and the rear suspension bushings have been replaced along with exhaust manifold donuts. Track is in good shape and not studded. Seems like it's been well maintained. Any reason to avoid this machine because of the milage? I know these motors can go 100,000 miles without any problems. Price is right too at $3995.

So what is the conclusion to this story?
