I am out of power on my phazer. She's right where I want her handling wise but she just doesn't have the go power for what I need. I'm either going to:
a. Boost it
b. Nytro
c. BRP 800 backcountry x
Its unlikely that the little 500 will last long under boost and its not worth throwing 5 large at anyway. The Nytro is nice but...its a PIG! Handling woes I can live with (and fix) but 100lbs is hard to loose without serious coin. So it seems the only logical choice is Ski Doo. What are you guys thoughts? I would love to stay on Yamaha and I was really hoping they would do something cool for 2012 but alas, it is not to be. I love the idea of the 4 stroke but the weight issue is just too much for me.

That's the ONLY downfall of the Phazer. 30 more HP and she'd be perfect.
Myself, i'd install a supercharger and keep it. Looks like you have some money's into it allready, charge it and get used to your NEW sled. I'm sure it would change everything!!

I'll let you know when my 100-110 hp Phazer MTX is done next year. Exhaust, intake, porting, ecu hybrid on fuel and timing curve. The XP chassis is not even close to the flickable Phazer good thing it's an 800 to gas the carve good luck.

As you know, i traded my FX for a XP. There is no comparison, none! But i will tell you, besides actually picking it up and moving it around, my Phazer didn't feel any heavier.
I'd be a little careful with the 800, or like they say on Doo-Talk, get a warranty! Spring check you may get it for free?

Another thing is, it's late in the year, and you guys are use to the power from riding it all season. Know what i mean?

4 psi boost or 30 shot of NOS
if you can wait a boost system would come up for sale cheap
heck in our sparsley populated province there are 2 boosted Phazers for sale!
I know a guy who came home with a new Nytro after his 3rd XP motor!
But think of this: it took you a lot of tinkering to get your Phazer to handle good, you could do the same on a Nytro. And the power is definitely there! Have you ridden one? Nytro + 1.75" Backcountry track = barfy feeling in your stomache when u hit it! I have ridden one to know.
good luck

Love the power, not the handling. Like a full wheelbarrow.

I like the Nytro to me it was better suited to me. Although there were some tracks I was faster on the Phazer. My mod sled is close to 90-05 HP NA so its pretty snappy

Yeah, snappy is a good word. I need power for track spin now though. Starting to get into some big backcountry stuff.
