Ordered a cover from my dealer for the new 2014 xtx...the one I received barely reaches to the back of the seat. Dealer tried to tell me that is the way it is on the long tracks....I said, " I have 2 long track Polaris and they cover to the back of the tunnel just fine. this Yamaha covers to the back of a 121 track...but the xtx is a 144"
Again he tried to tell me that was just the way it is...I told him to order me the cover for a MTX.
Anyone have anymore info on this?

Does it have two holes in the corner of the cover in the rear? If it does, that is the cover for the 121" phazer, and those holes allow you to grab the rear bumper while the cover is on. Either for moving by hand, or tying it down.
The cover on my Apex XTX, only covers out to the seat, and leaves the tunnel exposed as it sticks out quite a ways anyway. Nothing really to cover that needs protection at that point. All of the new covers on the Yamaha site show the tunnel sticking out. I was assuming they had changed most so that they could use the same cover for the RTX, XTX, MTX models.
From what I am seeing, the custom covers for the Phazer come in the 121" for RTX and GT (SMA-Cover-70-10) and the MTX (SMA-Cover 72-11)
You are right in asking for the MTX cover, as it will stop at the seat more than likely.

It does have 2 holes in the corner of the rear....so I am correct in thinking that is for the 121.
It will be interesting to see if the MTX stops at the seat or goes to the rear of the tunnel...in either case, the cover I have now is the wrong one based on the replies to this thread.
Thanks for the quick answers and help...this is great forum!

Just received this from a dealer: Hello – the proper cover to use on your Phazer XTX would be the one listed to fit the RTX/XTX - you are correct – that cover will not fit all the way to the rear of the tunnel – it will cover to the back of the seat and then down to the tunnel and cover all of the running boards. That cover is the only one Yamaha has that will fit the XTX as the cover made to fit the MTX model will not fit due to the Yamaha cover going all the way around the front suspension spindles and the MTX model is about 4-5 inches narrower at the spindles than the XTX so that cover would not fit properly.

That makes sense. I was not aware that the MTX had a narrower stance in front. But on another note, there is no cover designated for the XTX. That's according to the Yamaha accessory home page.
Attached is a pic of the 121" Phazer next tot he Apex XTX covered for reference. I sent this to Flyinhigh earlier.

Flyinghigh: You can get a tunnel cover that will fit your XTX from http://www.snoskinz.com/tunnel-covers.htm

MTX cover is what you want, it's tight up front but it will cover the front suspension. I've been using mine for 5 years now with a wide front on my MTX. I've owned an "XTX" for 3 years longer than they have offered one!
