Has anyone had a rail crack and if so, have you fixed it and how long did it last? I have a hairline fracture just underneath a bolt in about the middle of one of my rails and noticed it after my last ride. 6200 miles total on the rail.

I had one weld up and still have it one the sled. You need to add some rail supports.

Any pics of added rail supports? The 06s have rail supports just wondering where they are being added and how.

My Viper has 2 cracked bolt holes and my XTX 1. Viper repair has held up for around 7500 miles. XTX is still ok with 500 miles. Done properly, you should have no problems.

A friend of mine is a welder and has done 2 rails on my sxr, 2 on my srx, 2 on my rx1, and 2 on my apex. Never had a problem with any of them after but he does good work and is very meticulous. But yes done properly they will last a long long time.
