Anyone use a crossover helmet? The ones I can find are made by AFX, GMAX and FLY, but can't seem to find any real reviews on these in a snowmobiling application. They look quite interesting and seem to have a huge field of vision. I've always like the visor on my MX helmet and it looks to be a nice addition to the benefit of a full face helmet.
Anyone have experience with this type of helmet?

My Brother in Law had the Gmax crossover helmet and wore it once and sold it. It Fogged up really bad and alot of air got through. He now has a 509 helmet with goggles so the air comment doesnt really make sense but he likes it alot better.

I have a gmax . Its like the best of both worlds. Lightweight, good field of vision, and warm
I'm going to try a dual sport/crossover helmet shortly. It will likely be a Shoei Hornet, as my VXF-DT has been an exceptional product. The ability to wear goggles and close the shield over them should make it warm and fog free.

Thanks for the responses and input.
I decided to give it a try. I do really still like my 509MX helmet and do ride with it in the cold. But something a bit warmer on those colder days would be nice.
So I went with the GMAX version only because that's what my local guy had on hand. The fit is very nice and it has a huge field of vision. It wasn't as quiet as a full blown full face helmet, but it was quieter than an MX helmet. There were no air leaks to blow on your face and the breath box seals nicely against your face. I did not go with an electric shield, but I also did not have any fogging issues. Even when standing still and talking, the shield did not fog up in the closed position.
The one and only issue I had with this helmet was the shield is stiff to open and close. I messed around with the mounting of it this morning and still can't figure out why it is stiff. But maybe it will loosen with use.
Overall I would have to say I am very pleased with it. I will still continue to use my MX helmet and goggle setup. But this is a great backup for the colder days. I retains all the things I like about an MX helmet, but adds the benefits of a shield. I would definitely buy this again.
