Had to replace my Dalton weight's. Major grooves. Just getting close to the rpm I want. There was a gram weight difference between the new weight and the old weight when loaded the same due to the grooves. Right now I have the 1 inch slug and the 1/4 slug installed. Both are bottomed out turning 9050. Hoping to remove the 1/4 slug and get my 9100/9150 rpm I want...question is with the 1 inch slug installed by itself is it best to bottom it out in the tip? Have the weight in the middle? or have it flush with the heel? Sled is a 2011 nytro xtx, Full hurricane kit, pcv. autotuned, 1.75 backcountry, clutched and assuming geared(bought it like this) seen 107/108 today on a groomed railway bed... clutch's warm could hold lightly for 10sec. Any suggestion on the weight placement?

I used to run those weights in an Apex and had the best luck keeping the weight in the heal, but all of the Winder guys seem to jam it all in the tip. What springs/helix are you running with the kit? What’s the base weight are the Dalton adjustables? Which rollers are you using? Soooo many questions. Lol

It was a kit previously installed by the owner. I believe I got it back to where it was. I had the weights jammed right to the tip..was short rpm. Turning 8800..top speed was 107..but midrange suffered and belt slightly slipped on engagement as there was not heel weight. I left the same slugs in but I had the weight in the middle/heel this time. Worked better but backshifted really hard..put the secondary at 3/3 instead of 6/1. Much smoother upshift, top rpm are now at 9100/9200 with the weight more in the middle/heel..back shift is not nearly as hard, cruising rpm are lower and top speed was 105/106 low end and midrange are stronger with the weight more in middle/heel

Same types of thing I found with my Apex years ago, wish I had hung on to those weights.
