I had the Viper running about 4 weeks ago now go to fire it up and it dead. Battery reads 1.01 Volts. What should I be looking at? key was left on but the kill switch was off. Does the roll over valve drain power while sitting? Thanks for any help you may have to offer.

My experience with the 4 stroke sleds has been key on and kill switch off equals a dead battery. Something doesn't shut off all the way with just the kill switch.

I run the trickle charger. for the battery but also for the starter. A lot of starter failures seem to happen during the off season. I'm not chancing starting with a low battery.
Put a good slow charge on your battery. Try leaving the key off.

Yes the key needs to be off. On Viper/7000's if you shut it down with the kill switch but leave the key on the gauge will power down. However there is still a power relay in the sled that is being energized. This relay draws about 15-20 milliamps and will drain the battery over time.
With the key off everything is powered down including the relay.
To answer your question about the roll over valve, it does not draw power when the key is off or if the sled is shut down with just the kill switch.
It is worth noting that if you use the ROV tether cord to shut the sled down and leave the key on. The ROV will be on and after approx 2 hours the ROVCM will go in to battery voltage monitoring mode and once the battery voltage reaches approx 12.2 volts the ROVCM will shut down the roll over valve and the sled's power relay as well.

That seems unacceptable. Iv had good luck so far with my sled.I bought my 15 at the end of the 15 season and last year even though I had it on trickle charge on and all summer it went bad same on my 14 the year before first rude out in the cold no start
The apex I had before this had the original battery at 20000 Kms.
It is but 2 bad cells in it. The 14 has GPS tracking device in it but goes to sleep after 30 mins so should not have ruined battery either
