Did you guys break in your sw before flashing?

...then when fully warmed up, full throttle...

What is the nomal operating temp on the SW ?
Sorta, like ben said, vary the throttle between rpms and just don't hold it WO for 1/2 mile until after rings have set,and don't overheat it.

Break em in 500ft at time on grass, good heat cycles
The heat cycle was done like Ben described,on jack stand,no different 500 feet on grass in less than 5 sec. or 1/4 mile tar,at 10 sec. just don't hold it for much more than 10-12 seconds for first 15-20 miles, best in snow conditions, but a lot of us over the years have broke them in on grass,or tar and had no ill effects. Cheers

The question was about breaking in the engine, not breaking the sled. LOL! I hope you weren't hurt and the sled repairs were done right and covered by insurance. Did you remove that evil tree in your yard that jumped out in front of you?
LOL hi Dave,no evil tree, evil throttle ha ha,no insurance at time of crash,my homeowners would not cover it,and Yamaha said everything looked ok after they hooked up there master mechanic software,so no coverage from them either. So we did it ourselves, and it worked out ok.
