whats the differences over say 03-05 models.
what makes a rage different from a vector.
vector seems to be very close to a nytro, did the rs rage have same seating position and frame/susp as the vector until the monoshock was added.

There were no 03/04 RS.
Rage: 136", suspension: old proaction - 05, new proaction - 06.
Vector: 121", suspension: proactive - 05, proaction 06.
Nytro: Higer seat, handlebar risers, proactive suspension.

Basically, the only difference from the '05 to the '06 is the addition of the Monoshock RA rear suspension.
As to the difference from the Vector to the Venom, the Venom is in the ProAction chassis where as the Vector is in the Deltabox chassis. The 2 chassis are completely different (one of the biggest changes is probably the move to a-arms).

Gerard it looks like you are shopping for a Vector 05 or 06 or an older warrior. Just post your riding style and what you are looking for in a sled and the TY guys will help you out. In a nutshell 03-04 RX-1 and Warrior are 145hp 4 cyclinder with the old style proaction suspension which took some work to get a good ride out of and was heavy but was an OK suspension it rode well in the warrior. In 05 the RX-1 lost 30lbs and got the monoshock which is super easy to adjust and eliminates stutter bumps better than any suspension I have ever ridden. In 05 the Vector (3 cyclinder 120hp) was introduced with a new suspension called proactive which is a torsion spring suspension similiar to the competitions can be tuned for big bumps and jumping . My wife had an 05 Vector and it is a great sled light and fun good power. For 06 the Vector gets the Monoshock rear suspension (easy adjust RA) wide floorboards, and I think new brakes and some light weight engine parts. Great sled either year. The Vector, RX-1, and Warrior all share the same basic seating position and chassis. But the Vecotr has a better handling front susp geometry. Rage and Warrior use a longer 136" proaction (old style) susp in 05, Rage gets new lightweight Monoshock 136" for 06.

I ride on trails that are never groomed and rough with a lot of moguls like 3 feet tall from dip to top... and i ride hard, im 25, ...
i am coming off a 2001 sxr 700 and want something that takes the rough a lot better. what i really would like is a nytro, but a little out of my price range so i figure i can get a vector and maybe find a nytro seat and bars and some shocks to throw on it, as it would be easier to come up with the money slowly vs all at once for the nytro.
power wise i thought the SXr was fine so i think the Vector would be just as fast???

The SX 700R is probably just as fast as a Vector but the Vector should have a lot more torque down low.

For your style of riding and budget an 05 Rage would probably be best. Good bump capability with the longer 136" track and a lower price because it is an 05. An 05 Vector standard would also be good. A Vector should easily beat an SX700R and will take the bumps much better. The Nytro was really made for you and on the Yamaha web site it says they have 2.9% financing plus $600 free accessories. I'd shop a Nytro, then Rage, then Vector standard

well i had mint credit till i hit a wall on my 03 yamaha r6. shitty health insurance cuzed me to have about 65 grand of bills to pay after insurance. becuz of that i had to just declare bankruptcy in july. no shot of getting approved i doubt. not having credit sux. i gotta buy whatever i get in straight up cash. its much harder to justify dropping 6-7 grand when you have that wad of cash in ur hand and hand it over....loans are so much easier.
