Whew, spent about an hour trying to mount my new Pioneer 13mm swaybar on my 2011 Apex. I used a ratchet strap to get the bolt holes lined up with the swaybar link. I hope I did this right, lined up the links equally with the hash marks, but the suspension feels VERY stiff in the front now.

I hate to take it out on the trails, only to find out that I need to swap it out for the stocker right away on the trails.

Did anyone else have such a difficult time mounting the 13mm swaybar?

Something dosen't seem right there. Take your swaybar out and put the links on it on the bench and remark it. The marks might not be in the right spots.

The 13mm bar is difficult to install, but just in terms of putting the clamps on a floating bar. Maybe the links are out of adjustment due to worn ball joints?, they get no oil and can bind.

Also, prepare for mega wearing of your swaybar bushings, have to be replaced nearly every 3000kms...

Don't worry about having the hash marks in the same spot on both sides. Just put 1 end on and then put the other end on aligned to the closest teeth. That way the bar is not preloaded one way or the other. As for bushing wear, I have approx 10,000km on by 13mm bar and just changed the bushings last year. And yes the front end will be stiffer.

It was a breeze on my 03 Rx1, had the front of the sled off the ground, slid it in and it lined up with my marks on both sides no problem. I didn't worry about my marks being perfect, just so they slid on without preloading the bar.

Reinstalled the swaybar, looks like it was 2 teeth off in spite of the marks on the swaybar. With the swaybar off and on a level surface, there was no way that both link arms were able to line up exactly with the other, so I lined them up as close as possible.

I will keep an eye on the bushings for wear...and I lubed them.

Hopefully, I'll hit the trails to test it out by the end of the week, thanks for the tips guys.

You will also find your front spring adjustment to be much more sensitive--you feel the difference in 1 turn of the springs.

I pretty much have my front springs on full soft...that should be a good start no?

13 mm bar is machined wrong

I've installed two previously on my Apex's with no problem. Just helped a friend with his and the notches were off and links would not align laying flat on bench, no matter what way we placed them. We maid it work but it wasn't right. If you got it from PP, I would call Bruce and let him know
