VIPER LTX DEMO
It doesn't matter to me if the Viper isn't as fast as the Nitro, what matters to me is the ride, corner handling and quality of this sled, as i have talked to several ArcticCat owners of 2012 and 2013 models and they all rave about the handling and ride, but they all, every last one i spoke to had quaility issues with this sled, from blown belts in less than 200 miles to broken gearboxes to broken jackshafts to reverse button issues. All of which made me very apprehensive to buy this sled until i had a chance to speak with the Yamaha engineers on the project, they addressed all these known issues that ArcticCat failed to address in this models first two years of production. Even with this joint production now it seems that ArcticCat is not backing there sleds to the extent that Yamaha is backing there model, 2 years warranty verses 3 years warranty, so i felt that extending the 3 year warranty to 5 years will be a good idea, even though i did the same 5 years on my 2006 apex i never had to use it except for the exhaust donut issue that model had. Overall i am putting alot of faith in Yamaha to right this ship and build this sled to Yamaha quality and fit and finish that we all expect...that's just my opinion, said the 400# gorilla in the corner, that just dropped 12K on a new untested sled...

I agree I also spoke to an engineer at the MSP unveil and was very glad to hear that they are using Yami clutch, chaincase and belt. There was a Cat guy right with us that verified the changes Yami made.
My dealer offered the 3 year to 5 year warranty upgrade for $200 USD. I'm all over that.

Hey, anyone run a shorty back to back with a LTX where you could hold it open for a bit? Just curious if the shorty had anymore steam on top?

Xtx vs xtx viper the viper would get it out of the hole and then nytro would pull half sled length after 1000ft. But this was bone stock viper and somewhat clutched nytro

^^Hmm interesting. Did you guys get a Rtx or standard short track to see if they were any peppier?

We had the one you rode and the xtx, the xtx was quicker but I think the ltx may have been a touch faster up top. Didn't do a lot of long pull comparisons. All ours will have turbos and 162's so wasn't real interested in top end.
