i picked up a 2008 nytro and the owner said the front end was completely updated to 2009 parts. how can i be sure of this? i need to replace the a arm bushings and i see 08 and 09 are different order.

Difference in the support in the subframe. Either way to be on the safe side you can always add Grizz Gussets kit to reinforce your frame. 08' were weak, I have a 09 and added the gusset kit just to be safe and plan ahead. If the subframe was changed through the dealer warranty then you have the update subframe. If it was a used one the easiest way would be to look at your frame and see how its braced. There is nothing in the subframe that you can update except the frame itself. Spindles, ball joints etc.. could have been changed in 09' and that's what he could have met by replaced by 09' parts.

The spindles were different and I think upper a arm bushings were different. It helped create different caster and camber settings that helped the handling, I would bet that is what he ment, am unsure how to check without having 08 to compare to

He is asking about the a arms not the sub frame in all respect. I too have this same question as I purchased a 08 Nytro with 400 mi on it and the stock bushings are nice and tight. I will put the brass ones in for next year. The guy told me he put the 10 rtx a arms on it but it does have the 08 sub frame with gusset kit installed. :sled1:

The difference is the upper A-arm mounting hole on a 08 is smaller in dimension than the lower. On 09's and up, all the A-arm bushings are the same size. You might be able to measure the upper against the lower with a set of calipers. I'm not sure if the OD is smaller, but if it is you will know for sure it's still an 08 setup.

08 spindle on left and 09+ on right. Tie rod mounting points are different.

09 spindle on top.
