Hello again members of help. On the rear scissor of the viper skid(STXDX) the rear axle that bolts to the tunnel there are 2 so called wave washer that go in between the idler wheel and the axle,#36 in the parts diagram. Okay mine are missing, so what I think they are there for is to allow the rear scissor to walk side to side. I don't have access to them so can I just replace them with a flat washer?

Can you attach an image of what part you are referencing?

Yes #36 on the parts, I couldn’t imagine how to high lite it! Called my dealership and the mechanic said they have to be installed but what I wanted to know was can’t we install a real washer in between instead of that lite washer?

Not sure what those do either. Wave washer, they call it. First set of stock ones got pounded out pretty quick. Replaced the first set. Then pounded out another set. Third time I shimmed the WHOLE skid. Lots of lateral movement in all those arms and shafts. Gave up on the wave washers ( theres not much to them ) and went with stainless shims. Took a lot of play out the rear end. My WAG is close to a half inch of travel counting track and arms stock. The DuPont sliders are wider than stock and my shimming in the arms, she dont feel so SQUIRMY in the corners anymore. These washers are only on the XTX type skid. Not the slide action.

That’s my point!Tell me people why does an engineer want a skid to walk side to side anyway? We all have found that if some shim or washers are missing the consequences are broken parts down the road! Simple. So I’ll go with instinct here and shim up that space with real material not a wave washers as thin as a pop can!
Cant believe the dont put a shaft all the way through that rear scissor. Thats nuts but guess it works.
